Beavers are the youngest of the sections that make up 3rd Shaw (St Mary’s) Scout Group and are aged between 6 and 8 years old. They meet between 6.30 and 7.30pm on Friday evenings during term time.

Beavers started at St Mary’s in 1983, and has been running at almost full capacity (24) ever since. During this time we have seen lots of young people and adults enjoy a wide range of activities and this continues today.

The adult in charge of the colony is called the Beaver Scout Leader and is supported by a number of other leaders and helpers. All are glad to help if you have any questions.

Beavers enjoy making friends, playing games, learning new skills, discovering nature and going on visits. Sleepovers are particularly popular and are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home.

Beavers wear a turquoise sweatshirt and can earn badges for a range of activities. For more details of the various badges and their position on the uniform click here.

Waiting list names can be accepted from the 5th Birthday.
